Jewelery care

Take good care of your jewelry - that way, it will stay nice for longer!

All our jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver or 18 carat gold plated silver. Jewelry inevitably wears over time, even those made of genuine materials, and therefore the plating may lose its shine. Jewelry requires maintenance to prolong its durability. It's clear that jewelry not made of solid gold won't last forever, but the following advice will help your jewelry last a long time.

We want your new jewelery to look good for a long time. That's why we've put together some of our best tips on how to take best care of them.

TIPS

  • Avoid wearing your jewelery while cleaning, washing dishes, bathing, sports and gardening
  • Always take off your jewelery when sleeping and bathing.
  • Avoid your jewelery coming into contact with creams, soap, chemicals, hairspray, perfume and the like, as products wear down the coating or can discolour them.

  • You cannot avoid that the jewelery oxidises and can therefore turn dark when it is in contact with air and moisture, like the skin. We therefore recommend that you store your jewelery in airtight containers, such as tightly sealed zip bags when not in use.
  • The PH value of the skin affects the gilding, and therefore it is individual how one's jewelery lasts and ages

Follow our advice on how best to look after your jewellery, and the jewelery will keep its beautiful appearance.

MATERIALS

Smykish jewelry is all crafted in pure 925 sterling silver and can be gold-plated with 18 carat gold. We only use precious metals, as well as precious stones and natural pearls. Precious materials make a piece of jewelery extra delicious - and the high quality equals long durability.

All precious metals are nickel-free, cf. Danish legislation. Our jewelery is approved by the precious metal control and is therefore all stamped with 925. The precious metal control is a company that, on behalf of the state, checks that the purity of the metals in the jewelery meets the Danish regulations.
